As per reports, Beauty and The Beast grossed around Rs 1.5 crores on Friday, which was more than the gross collections of its closest competitor, which is Machne. The debut of Mustafa, who is the son of Abbas Burmawalla of Abbas - Mustan had grossed about Rs 55 lacs. The romantic thriller that also stars Kiara Advani in the lead got poor reviews, but a better opening than the other Hindi releases. Vikramaditya Motwane's Trapped, which got some great reviews for its premise and Rajkummar Rao's performance, only managed to gross about Rs 25 lacs on opening day. The movie with the poorest collections of all was undoubtedly Govinda's comeback movie as a lead, Aa Gaya Hero. The shoddily directed movie only got around Rs 20 lacs on day one. With good reviews pouring in for Beauty and The Beast, the movie will surely pick up on the weekend, and will work with the family audiences especially in the multiplexes.
